A BLAMELESS LIFE

Psalm 101:2

I will be careful to lead a blameless life – when will you come to me? I will walk in my house with a blameless heart. Psalm 101:2

Here King David is showing his desire to see GOD. He is asking GOD to come to him. And free him of his many troubles. But as we get to know David, he is a person who loved seeking GOD. He sought GOD on many occasions. Not just when he was in desperate need, he also sought GOD even when he was joyful (something we all need to learn).

In this verse we see that he not just wanted GOD to come into his life (which can also mean intervene in his situations) but he also wanted to be blameless when GOD met him. He wanted to prepare himself for when GOD met him.

In the second part of the same verse he also mentions that he is going to walk in his house with a blameless heart. This part is the one which caught my attention. It is easier to lead a blameless life when in the world. You know someone is always watching you. You can see them and they can see you. You and I can always put a mask on and make people believe something we want them to believe. Being in the good books of people is a fairly easy task. Which, almost all of us have done at some point in our lives. At least I have done that.

But we are our true self in our home? Especially in our room. Behind closed doors. Where there is no one watching us. We do things that we won’t normally do in public. Like singing out loud, dancing crazy and many other things. You get it, right? David knew what he could do in his house when he knew no one was around. Many people end up doing regretful things when no one is around. It is that empty room with doors locked that makes many to lose their power of decision making.

People get caught in porn, substance abuse, masturbation, gluttony, cutting, depression, loneliness and many other evil things when they are alone. When one has to make the choice between the right and wrong and when the thought of “no one is watching or no one will know” overcomes, they lose the battle and give into many things they end up regretting.

The worst part is when they start feeling guilty and move away from GOD. They feel they are too dirty and filthy for GOD. Instead of running toward HIM they run away from HIM.

If only they knew that GOD’s love knows NO LIMIT and knows NO BOUNDS! In the old testament GOD and man had a separation. There was a void between them that no one but GOD could fulfill. That’s why JESUS came, HE took up all the sins of the world and HE died. No matter how ugly and filthy and nasty they might be HE took it and washed them through HIS blood! If GOD knew that there are certain sins that are too profound for GOD to be able to forgive and wash away, HE would not have sent HIS only son JESUS! It is because HE is able and all powerful to wash all and every sin away HE came and did what we couldn’t ever possibly do in this lifetime.

Now like David said, it is awesome to strive hard to lead a blameless life. But we are of this flesh and we are bound to fall. But since we have a GOD who understands us and is willing to set us 'captives' free, let us not run away from HIM the next time we fall. But, let us run towards HIM who is able to pull us from whatever slime we are in and make us stand on a solid ground.

Our GOD is a loving, forgiving and kind Father. He wants you and I to come to HIM and talk to HIM. Today my dear friends if you feel sad and guilty for something you did in the past, please I want to encourage you to go to GOD. Talk to HIM about your problems. Ask HIM to help you feel better and to take off the guilt feeling and never let you do anything like that again.

Remember you might fall but you will always be HIS child.

GOD bless you!

Let Us Be Thankful For Everything!!

It is always easy for me to get down on my knees and blame GOD for the things that not good in my life. I can count endless lists of items, not good in my life. I can stay up for endless hours and keep blaming and fighting with GOD. But when it comes to counting my blessings I have to search for words. I am so unaware of the good things GOD has done in my life because I spend all my time, concentrating on things I don’t have or those things I want to have. If you ask to me tell at least 5 good things GOD has done in my life and you’ll find me stammering, gasping for words and then failing miserably.

I am pretty sure that I am not the only person suffering from “not thankful heart” disease. Loving GOD and going to church every Sunday is a completely different thing. If you and I love GOD and don’t know why, we don’t truly love HIM. Actually there are millions of things that we can thank GOD for. But we don’t consider them worthy enough to be thankful for.

Good health, food, clothing, home, family, air… the list goes on. You and I are blessed. And that’s true. Yes we might have many unanswered prayers and many things unfulfilled. But that does mean you and I are not blessed.

The problem comes when we end up comparing ourselves with others or when we start listening to those people whose specific job in this world is to pull us down. These people or some situations just kill the joy within and make us miserable. The solution is to spend more time with GOD and to keep reminding yourself of how blessed you are. Keep thanking GOD for every little thing HE has done in your life. You don’t have to have mighty miracles happening in your life to be thankful. But you need to be thankful for little things for mighty miracles to happen.

Let us make it a habit to thank GOD for every little thing HE has done in our lives and live a happy life free from “not thankful heart” disease!

GOD Bless you more and more!! Be Thankful and be Kind!
