JESUS - The High Priest

Hebrews 9:10-14

In the Old Testament, every year the high priest would go and offer sacrifices for himself and on behalf of the whole community asking for forgiveness of their sins. He had to be blameless himself so that when he is inside the temple he himself won’t die. His sacrifice would cleanse people of their sins temporarily. And this ritual had to be performed every year.

In the New Testament, JESUS came as the high priest and HE was born holy and righteous. The most holy place HE would enter was the presence of GOD the Father. That presence was not new to HIM for HE entered that presence everyday as HE waited on GOD. HE had no fear of dying in the presence of GOD because GOD the father was pleased with HIM. As HE entered the most holy place, HIS sacrifice was not that of any animal, but something better. HIS offering was HE HIMSELF.

HE didn’t just intercede for the sins of a few but HE interceded for all. HIS sacrifice was made only once, but enough for all generations. HIS blood didn’t just cleanse the outwardly sins but also the conscience that got soiled with the sin. HIS all powerful blood is a reminder of HIS love so amazing and HIS grace so divine.

And unlike the Old Testament where the sacrifice made was only for their people, HIS sacrifice is made for all those who believe. HIS forgiveness is for all who come to HIM and HIS grace knows no limits.

Believe and receive the forgiveness from all your sins, receive a guilt free conscience and complete freedom in JESUS name.

Amen!
